The Washing

Rain falls pounding out sound, washing earth on this New Year's day. Coffee brews and scents this house strong, calling me come and pour. Couch and blankets wait with pen and paper to reflect, another year passed and a new one just begun. Poetically apropos these rain drops falling on New Year's day. Washing the world of last year's dirt, preparing winter barren for spring again. I need His washing, His cleansing not just on New Year's but on every day I live and move and breath. This year stretches new and sun and rain will fill it's days. Comforted knowing the rainmaker, the sun riser will cover them all.  Happy New Year

not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit
Titus 3:5
